Nitrogen has a significant application in laser cutting where using nitrogen as cutting gas, the laser beam melts the material, and the nitrogen blows away the molten material from the cutting groove.
The components cut using high-pressure nitrogen gas can move directly from the laser system to welding operations without any additional processing. The nitrogen-cut components have considerably less taper and thereby welding operations are minimized. Also less fixturing is required and parts generally have better a fit. The improved welding means less efforts are required in finishing / polishing the parts.
Airgases Projects provides to laser cutting industry custom designed Nitrogen generators based on cryogenic technology which produces high purity nitrogen. Our team can also offer cryogenic liquid storage, pumping and vaporisation ( SPV) systems where liquid nitrogen is purchased from external sources . The liquid thus purchased is stored in special cryogenic storage tanks and then pumped to required pressure or directly supplied through pressurised tank and vaporised to near ambient temperature before being used by customer for its applications.
