A formal project kick off meeting with SAID team was held at Colomobo, Srilanka. The SAID team consisted of Project leader Mr David Duse and Mr Luca Manzotti and from Airgases Projects Mr H M Bengani attended the meeting. The kick off meeting provided an opportunity to clarify various technical issues as well as agreed detailed execution plant including submission of design documentation.
A proud moment for Airgases Projects. In a major breakthrough, against stiff international competition, Airgases Projects in association with Sumitomo Seika Chemicals have received order from HPCL – Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) for setting up a 146 TPD VPSA oxygen plant to provide oxygen required for Sulfur recovery unit at Bathinda Refinery. Engineers India Limited (EIL) are PMC for the projects. This would be the largest VPSA oxygen plant set up in India. The scope of work under this project shall consist of design, engineering, manufacture and Supply of plant as well as supervision of erection & commissioning of the plant. The project is to be executed in 10 months from date of letter of acceptance.
In order to meet aggressive delivery schedule, HMEL VPSA projects execution has been taken up by both Sumitomo and Airgases project in right earnest. Some critical basic drawing documents and PFD have been submitted and project kick off meeting was attended by delegation from Sumitomo team consisting of Mr T. Chiba, Mr Tadanori Hashimoto and Ms Yuka Tsujita and Airgases Projects team consisting of Mr H M Bengani, Mr LB Arnab and Mr JashimMollah at Bathinda refinery of HMEL. The road journey from Delhi to Bathinda allowed Japanese team to have first had view of India. The meetings were attended by large team from HMEL as well as Engineers India Limited as PMC. The meeting were very useful in discussing and resolving some of critical issues, most important being freezing the plant layout in new plant location. A site visit was also made to physically look at plant configuration and plot plan.
